News Update
I apologise for the lack of updates.
During early summer 2009, after the re-build of the Oldsmobile was finished, we road-tested for about 100 miles and were delighted with the performance – definitely an improvement from before the re-build.
The thought of our trip was becoming more exciting, particularly fueled by the enthusiasm of the people of Oldsmar, Florida our final USA destination.
As you may have read Oldsmar was founded by R.E. Olds the maker of our car and some of his descendants were intending to travel to Oldsmar to meet us on our arrival.
Then in April something that was not in the script happened. Trevor developed a medical condition that needed chemotherapy – that did not start until the middle of September. Trevor fought hard but the cancer had spread and sadly he passed away on 27th October 2009. I lost my partner and my best mate. It has taken me almost a year to be able to write this update. I will donate your contributions to Kids, the charity we support.
It has been suggested by a number of people that I should attempt the trip as a tribute to Trevor. My reply is “I never say never”.
Thank you so much for supporting us.
